the glass doll
The glass doll. She sits on the desk, Looking pretty for everyone who sees. Touched and grabbed by the grimy fingers Of people who gaze upon her like she's a work of art. She can't move, Her job is to stay quiet, She must sit and let people look, touch and feel. She must do what's expected.p She should've expected it, Looking so pretty, sitting on display For everyone to see. It's her fault, She should've known, Looking the way she did. The glass doll Just wanted to live She wanted to be free Wanted to be left alone The gazes that used to look at her with admiration Turn into something else Something... That made her uncomfortable Something evil She wanted to leave But she couldn't It was her fault Or so she believed To scared of being judged To scared of being hurt She didn't know what to do The glass doll She has struggled She has faught And she has lost The gazes have trapped her She can't get out They have gotten worse The grimy fingers have increased She's done She tired The glass doll Has given up There was no way out of the loop As she falls off her display, all Her thoughts have stopped Except for a small voice, in the back of her glass mind, "Finally, it's over"
