The Girl I can't have
She moves like dawn through shattered dreams, A whisper soft, a moonlight gleam. Her laughter weaves through autumn air, A song too sweet, too pure to bear. I watch her hands—so close, yet far, Tracing love in falling stars. Her voice, a warmth I’ll never hold, Her touch, a fire turned to cold. She speaks to me in borrowed light, A kindness laced with quiet might. But in her eyes, I only see A world of love not meant for me. She smiles, not knowing that she breaks My heart with every breath she takes. For she is his, and I remain A ghost who drowns in silent pain. Yet still, I stay, though fate is cruel, A poet lost, a wistful fool. For love unclaimed is love still true, And I would rather ache than lose.
