The girl
In dark and lonely nights so deep, Beneath the sky where shadows sleep, By the shore, the restless sea, She sits alone, so timidly. With no support, no hand to hold, The night outside is dark and cold, But darker still, deep down inside, Where silent fears and pain reside. She’s left alone, with none ahead, With nothing much beside her tread. Just shattered memories remain, Her only company is pain. Everything feels half, incomplete, An emptiness beneath her feet. She’s broken now, she fell apart, No one came to mend her heart. She keeps on watching, fixed in sight, That same old boat, that distant light. “How can I board another shore? Another boat—what waits there for?” In that new boat, she knows she’ll fail, To gather pieces, torn and frail. And if she does, the truth she sees— The destination’s changed with seas.
