The Ghost and the Harbor I wa
The Ghost and the Harbor I was a riot, a lie, a storm out at sea, Until she looked through the wreckage and chose to see me. She called me a harbor, she called me a man, And for the first time, I felt like I could finally stand. But I’m the one who let the fire go cold, Trading a kingdom for a story I’ve told. Now I carry the "still"—the echo, the end, A break in the world that no god can mend. Every night is a descent, a long, hollow crawl, While I wait for the sunrise I hate most of all. It’s 7:00 AM and the ceiling is stone, In a body I inhabit, but no longer own. I’ve looked into the eyes of Thanatos, quiet and deep, I’ve tasted the poison and survived the sleep. But being alive without her is the harder path back, Just drifting through a void where the stars have gone black.
