The Garden
When I saw your garden growing, Saw how beautiful you grew it, Saw the way you pruned the branches, Saw you weeding in your garden, Saw the seedlings in the seed bed, Saw you patiently transplanting, Saw you tend the older plantings, Saw you labor kind and gentle, Saw your overarching kindness, Such it is that you regard it. Now I see the fresh endeavor, See rose petals on the water, See the fish outside enormous, See the vegetables attended, See the beauty of the flowers See the stones within the pathway, See the fountains and the water, See the new paint on the gateway, So much care you have provided, So much love you have presented. Heard of your loss and deep sorrow, Feel the deepness of your sadness, Feel compassion for your caring, Feel your saddened heart forboding, Feel your need for understanding, Feel your love and painful heartache, Feel your anger and your turmoil, Feel your despairing for your loss, Pray your heart is healing quickly, Heal as quickly as your garden.
