"The friend's lost on the way"
when the calls stopped coming, and the laughter faded into memory, i found myself scrolling through old texts- holding on to ghosts made of words. my phone buzzed, but it was never your name, just silence disguised as notifications. i used to think we'd carry each other forever, but forever slipped between read receipts and unanswered hellos. so i wrote this poem, because sometimes the loneliest part isn't being alone, it's remembering the people who once made you feel like you never would be.
