THE FREEDOM CALL
I hear a freedom call, Looking through the North, Listening by the South, Wails from the West, Screams from the East— Asking the question: Are we truly free? I look through day and night, And I see a society never free, A world without peace, Nations without will, And people in shackles. The ancestors cry— Do you hear? I do. They shout; they wail. They ask, Why did we die? Is it all vanity? We live in a society Making decisions through coercion, yet calling it freedom. A place where minds cannot fly Like the wings of an eagle. Decisions taken not by will, but by bills— Yet we say we are free. Now the heroes weep: What did we die for? And the people ask— Are we truly free, Or are we being deceived?
