The Forgotten Friend
For as long as I can remember, I've never wanted to feel left out. I've always wanted to understand the joke laughter rises while mime just broke. Sometimes it feels like I'm in a photo, till I see the outcome and I'm just a fading shadow. What is wrong with me? I say Why do they always drift away? Then I look at myself and ask, could I be the problem? Or just someone they've forgotten. Maybe I tried too hard to fit into places that were never meant for me Maybe being alone isn't the end, it's the beginning of me. And though I sit on the edge of their circles, I still fill the warmth from where I stand. Then it clicks, it's not that I don't belong I just belong differently. While people build walls, I build bridges. I may not be the loudest voice, but still strength lives without the noise. Though calm, I stand with quiet poise still making my stand, and that's my choice.
