The Flowers I Gave
In the halls of my school, I thought I had moved on, From the feelings I harbored, from last year's dawn. I am but a shy soul, a coward in disguise, Afraid to reveal my feelings, afraid of your eyes. Yet, every day I see you, my heart skips a beat, And I find myself blushing, my knees feeling weak. I dream of the day when I'll gather my courage, To offer you a flower, a symbol of my love's nourish. So one day, I devised a plan, to express my affection, To ask someone to deliver my flower, my confession. With trembling hands, I handed them the bloom, Hoping it would reach you, and dispel my gloom. But fate played a trick, as it often does, For the one I chose to deliver, fell for you, just because. The flower I sent, a symbol of my love, Now a reminder of what I'm deprived of. And so, the one who gave the flowers, and you who I adore, Found solace in each other, while I yearned for more. I smile through the pain, though it cuts me deep, For love's unpredictable, its path often steep. Though my heart may ache, and tears may fall, I'll cherish the moments, the memories, big and small. For in this bittersweet tale, I've learned a valuable art, To cherish love's journey, even when it breaks my heart.
