THE FLAWED SYSTEM
I do not study now to learn or know, I study just to pass,to not fail slow. The goal's not wisdom, just a fleeting grade, A number on a screen,a debt I've paid. This classroom is a cage, the clock a guard, My own desire for knowledge, they have charred. The lecturer,a dictator on his throne, Who owns the words we must repeat and own. We are the subjects, hopeless and confined, Trapped in a curriculum that breaks the mind. They do not build us up;they enforce the dread, With threats of carryovers hanging over our head. I memorize the note they force us to swallow, Too hollow for a future I can't follow. This system, built to help us, stands and mocks, As we count down the days, ticking the clocks. They promised us a key, a path to rise, But all I see are walls that block the skies. We are the victims of their grand mistake, Just desperate prisoners, for our own sake. So I will pass this course, I'll play the part, While something breaks inside my mind and heart. A hollow student in a factory's demand, A failed result from a failed command.
