The Flame
I watch the tiny flame, The one I lit not to long ago, It makes my room smell good, That's why I lit it. I watch the tiny flame, It looks like it's trying to escape the small container, It thrashes around wildly, Like it's eager to get out, Just like the thoughts that flood my mind and my brain, And the anger that consumes me. I watch the tiny flame, thrashing around, But I know the flame won't get out. But I blow out the flame anyway, Just like I shut out my feelings.
