The first snowfall
The first snowfall reminds you of someone, doesn’t it? Not because it’s beautiful, but because it arrives the way they once did. Quietly and suddenly And somehow, everything inside you changed. It felt warm and calming at first, like your heart had found its missing piece. And no matter how much time passes, some part of you still thinks of them as someone who never really disappears. The streets look the same. The sky is the same blue colour. But something deep inside you changes, something warm, yet unsettling at the same time. You remember how easy it was to believe it would last forever. How the cold felt warm. How even silence wasn’t awkward, standing close, saying nothing, and somehow that became the most precious moment. You didn’t know you were making memories. Actually, you didn’t even know it was called “love.” Maybe that’s the worst part, loving someone without knowing anything yet. The snow melts the way it came, without ceremony. Life returns to normal. But you don’t. You’re still stuck with memories of them. Because first love, like the first snowfall, never truly leaves. It settles somewhere quiet, waiting for another winter. Even though you know it'll hurt.
