The Final Curtain
When you know you're the reason. When you've done everything you can to blind yourself to the crowd. You put on the acts I II and III. Actors had their parts before you came along and they're well rehearsed. Props in place, the scene set...mood lighting or is it thundering? Everyone on the marks. The theater is full...but it's never good enough because there's always a reason to hang on the breath of suspense. Ushers, stage hands, tickets stamped. So much work put into postponing your part in the play? It feels off because, you're supposed to be the protagonist and yet...you ease into a background character. Or, maybe you're your own foil? perhaps the deuteragonist to someone else? But no... you're not ready to admit. You're having trouble reading your own dialogue so you steal someone else's part, don't you? When it doesn't set right, you let loose the gas lights so everyone can see the faults in someone else...I mean, after all...it was their dialogue, not yours. Right? When the credits roll, the murderer found, world saved, when the theater os empty...what do you do then? If you can't play your own part, stop taking lime light from those who can...or perhaps you're method acting for them...
