The Feeling That Once Was.
It’s a feeling that lingers, a feeling that stays Prominent it once was, dominant it called forward Act on me, Bring me back to life, I’m losing my voice but That was then, when I couldn’t sleep without being reminded of it When I couldn’t eat without it reminding me it exists Forgetting was like sweeping the sands on the shore of the ocean A wasted effort, only took my further away from shore deeper into a Ocean Flooded with waves, traveling without grace biting at me, leaking into my physical Looking pale, feeling stale But now it’s a feeling that once was Reminiscing of the arms I once crawled Into like a safe space from life’s brawls An escape from my minds court That judges me and reminds of this feeling that once was Calling me weak, inconsiderate for I failed to fall for it Even though now the feeling still lingers Dormant at the back of the walls, the doors I shut off Opened up sometimes when I feel the need to revel in pain To make my mind tough. I’ll keep it like a treasure, like a trophy I worked for Never a slave, but a master who wields his sword as he pleases And in this state I want more, used to this one Something to feel different I long for. But till then I’d sit alone in my mind with the feel
