The Feeling.
This is meant for your eyes to see, Do you see me where you are? Can you feel the stare and longing? Words elude my lips, I'm lost for words as I gasp for air. Simple and plain This story I must tell, This damsel stole my heart Like the lilies in the garden She's arrayed with beauty. And like the rivers of waters, Thoughts of her flow through my mind; Wither can I hide from thoughts of you? If I close my eyes, there you are, If I shut my ears, I hear you calling out loud in silence. This feeling I can't explain, This feeling I must escape, 'cos I'm afraid of the worst, The thought of losing you I'm afraid and scared. But I hope one day you will know Just how much I adore you. But I hope you read through me like a book; But I hope you feel the same way I do And you read my feelings through my eyes. Like Job, I will wait, I'll tarry till His will be done. These emotions I will not hide, But upon the tower will I set myself And until you speak and take my hold. 🖊️John Bemshima Benedict
