The Failed Peak
I was nothing always but a failed peak The highest mountain but failed to be reached They set out to climb and conquer me But I was riddled with agony and misery The rigor of my heart chilled them to the bone My innocent landscape became brutal stone I failed them, as they couldn't get to me The soaring incline too vast to breathe Broke them down and damaged their hope They decided they can't try for me anymore And slowly, I withered away on that cold spot Stranded and lonely on Earth's highest top
