The Endless Drift
Betrayed by trust, a dagger through my core, Yet still I stand, though hollowed, frail, and torn. A lifeless shell upon this broken shore, By waves of anguish battered and forlorn. A sinking ship, adrift in endless sea, No guiding star to light the weary way. Hope fades, a phantom—what will come to be? The cycle traps us, night consumes the day. And yet, if one day fortune shifts the tide, If ever we should see the shore again, With rum in hand, our fleeting joy we’ll bide, To drown the echoes of our silent pain. But morning comes, the cycle starts anew, And life repeats its cruel, unyielding hue.
