The Empty
Two friends stand a mile apart. Two friends stand side by side. They all feel as close as the furthest star, as their minds are somewhere afar. Their hearts feel as though they've died, as they strive to meet another's bar. That blinding light pierces our eyes, it's images seering our mind. Those pixels do much to remind that we are all going to die, for we are flesh, and flesh will end as our souls fly towards the sky. I don't feel the fear of death, nor the hope of friends far away. I don't feel anyone's breath, nor what you have to say. My heart has been taken captive, but not by a lover or friend. Rather by society's apathetic ways, that will bring us all to an end.
