"The Echo of You"
I keep the hollow pieces of you, Hidden where no one dares to look, Like a broken promise, frail and true, A love I never learned to forsake. Your name, once soft upon my lips, Now trembles like a dying spark, It echoes through my silence, slips Into the shadows, cold and dark. We used to dance beneath the moon, Whispering secrets only hearts knew, But time has made us strangers soon, And I am still reaching out for you. The spaces you’ve left behind, Carve through me like endless rain, I carry them, unspoken, blind, Each memory a shard of pain. And if you ever hear my cries, Know they’re not meant for you to save, But for the ghost of who we were, The love that died, yet won't behave. You took the best of me with you, And left me with this endless ache, A love I’d never wanted to lose, And a heart that’s far too soft to break.
