The Echo After Everyone Leaves
They said "I love you", said "I'm here", Said "your feelings are valid."- Soft words that tasted real until they dissolved like wet scabs. The silence they left behind presses on my ribs, A weight that feels like drowning in a room full of air. My night now feel like punishment. My room hums thoughts that don't shut up, Thoughts that gnaw at the edges of me like they want to hallow me out. The dark doesn't scare me anymore, It just feels like the answer, they only thing that won't pretend to stay. I now sit here with an ache, a sharp, heavy, pleading, ache never wanting it's sting to stop. I just wish they stayed, wish their love was something real instead of another empty echo I learned to cling to, to cry to, until it cut me deep to the point where I wish it never heals. 🦋🦋🦋
