The Dreamer
I feel like I've worked harder than most. I feel like I'm competing with my ancestors' ghosts. I feel like I'm being pulled in every direction, in every way. My Success is not enough at the end of the day. I feel like there's a million needs outweighing my wants, and a million more waiting to consume my thoughts. This..... This can't be all there is for me. What happened to joy, what happened to happiness, what happened to peace? If, I continue to trudge this road of grief, with those on the sidelines offering no relief. Then I'll never see the day I don't have to earn, or know life that is void of yearn. I'll never spend the day chasing the one that I love, holding her, kissing her, and thanking the man up above. My life it's just a droplet of sweat to the earth, it will never be looked upon, or measured for worth. So here I sit beneath the Piñon tree, pondering this life, and wanting to be free. But, it won't be today, because today is just a dream. -Country
