The Done Era
I've walked the miles, of worn-out dreams, Chased the shadows, of fleeting themes, I've tried and failed, and risen again, But now I stand, in the done era's reign. The fire that once, fueled my soul's desire, Has flickered out, like a dying ember's fire, The passion that drove, my heart's deepest sigh, Has whispered its last, in a gentle, goodbye. I've reached the end, of a long, hard road, Where every step, was a heavy load, I've carried the weight, of a thousand falls, But now I lay it down, in the done era's halls. The silence is loud, in this empty space, Where once the noise, of my struggles took its place, The stillness is deep, in this quiet, dark night, Where the stars shine bright, with a gentle, loving light. In this done era, I find a strange peace, A sense of release, from life's chaotic, wild release, A feeling of calm, that I've never known before, A stillness that soothes, my soul's deepest core. So let me rest, in this done era's shade, Where the battles are won, and the wars are laid, For in this silence, I've found a peaceful nest, Where my heart can heal, and my soul can rest.
