The distance between us
You and I just met not too long ago. Your charming words make the feelings want to grow. But you're a thousand miles away. I'm sitting here wishing on a star, hoping you will stay. All I have ever known seems to leave me a stray. But maybe now you can maybe change it that way. Gunshots and dirt are all that I'm hearing. Should I really have to be 17 and hear that you're leaving. Once strangers now is something different. I think I'm gonna need a new refreshment. We are now just 18 and 19 living with distance. I sometimes feel like there is no existence. You're still a thousand miles gone. Do I have to start mourning before dawn? I pray and hope you come back home. Because I'm tired of being alone. This 1,000 miles distance is so hard. My heart sometimes feels chard. Knowing you're love is coming back. Now i can finally keep track. Those 1,000 miles used to be the death of me. Now its just the unlimited time that we have free. Flowers on the ground with your name. I had to get your uniform to claim. Those 1,000 miles were what killed me at 17. But now its the sky that is so clean to me at 18.
