The Devil I Know
In laughter's glow, she shares her smile, Yet whispers dark, they stretch a mile. Behind the jest, a shadowed thought, A tangled web of words she's wrought. She feigns delight, but eyes betray, A hint of envy in her play. Though troubles find me not, it seems, Her heart is tangled in dark dreams. But still, I hold her close, my friend, For known devils may just comprehend. In this dance of joy and spite, I choose her laughter, day and night.
