The Darkness Follows
What happened to me? I used to be bright, Now half of me’s gone, the rest lost to night. Six feet below where my hopes used to grow, Buried so deep, no one will know. Falling through shadows, the unknown ahead, Praying for light to clear out my head. Trying to live while I’m breaking inside, Wanting to die, with nowhere to hide. The silence screams louder than any sound, I’m sinking in pain, no help to be found. I run from my thoughts but they chase me still, The darkness awaits, it bends to my will. I just want to smile, to feel something true, Is that too much for this world to do?
