The Darkness
Depression sadness, a heavy weight A darkness that consumes, an endless state A lonely road, with no end in sight A heavy burden, a constant fight It creeps in slowly, like a thief in the night Stealing joy and leaving only blight A cloud of grey, that follows everywhere A suffocating grip, that's hard to bear Days seem endless, and nights are long A constant struggle, to remain strong A heavy heart, that feels so numb A constant battle, that's hard to overcome It's like a storm, that never ends A constant battle, with no amends A feeling of emptiness, that's hard to shake A constant reminder, of all that's at stake But through the darkness, a glimmer of light A ray of hope, that shines so bright A reminder that this too shall pass And brighter days, will come at last So hold on tight, and don't lose sight Of the beauty that still shines so bright For even in the darkest night There's always a glimmer of light.
