The Darkness
If there was only a way to escape myself, a way to momentary step out for a break Keeping busy gets tiring when I feel the urge to run and escape It becomes an endlessly exhausting job keeping myself from what’s inside Holding back a conscious effort of strength I try so hard to hide. Waiting for me at night, when it’s time for me to wind down The time I push even harder, to cover up for the lack of sounds The increase in worried thoughts that the dark brings up with the moon Along with the endless chatter, my mind dives in to consume And off we go with my dark thoughts, Ive given up any effort to tie back This darkness now bigger then me, its the strength of peace is what I lack From one dreadfully thought to the next we skip, Lets move on to some guilt, maybe self hatred for a bit. Not only is my mind tired and stressed to the max My jaw and shoulders sore and stiff from forgetting to breath and relax . If only I could keep awake to appreciate my silent sound To be able to rid this self this toxic that brings my life down I would give anything to forget what in the sun I hide So I wont have to ever have to face again what’s waiting for me inside
