The Dad She Needs
In the quiet hours of the night, When dreams and fears entwine, I ponder how to guide her right, This precious daughter, mine. Her eyes hold worlds I’ve yet to see, A future bright and wide, And in those depths, I find my plea, To be her constant guide. I long to be the dad she needs, Strong, wise, and true, Yet fear whispers of misdeeds, Of paths I might pursue. Will I falter, will I stray, From the course I wish to chart? Can I give her all each day, With an ever-faithful heart? Though doubt may cloud my vision clear, And shadows cast their pall, I’ll strive to conquer every fear, To rise above them all. For her, I’ll sweat and bleed and toil, Through trials great and small, To nurture dreams and hopes unspoiled, To catch her if she falls. Though her mom and I are apart, Our love for her remains, A bond that time cannot depart, Nor distance ever strains. I’ll be there through each step she takes, Through laughter and through tears, A steadfast presence when she wakes, To calm her deepest fears. In every heartbeat, every breath, I’ll pledge my love anew, To guard her life from harm and death, To see her spirit through. So here I stand, with open arms, Ready to embrace, The journey of a father’s charms
