The craven
I’m glad now that the delusion has finally worn off,” because now I see you you, without the shine I once forced onto you. I hoped, wished, prayed that we could be something, but you are a drowning man who cannot give flowers, a rabid dog who cannot give love. So I let my voice soften a little.... I hope whatever storms shaped you finally leave you in peace. Because whatever image you showed me that is who you are to me. Not enough. Maybe I wanted you to be, maybe I didn’t. But what hurts most is your cowardice. Do you know how heavy the world sits on shoulders like ours? How dangerous it is to love in places where our names are whispered like crimes? Where people like us are beaten, burned, raped, murdered, erased for simply wanting to hold hands without fear? Where jobs vanish, families vanish, safety vanishes the moment someone decides you are too queer to live freely? You say you liked me, yet you hid. I chase what I want, I leap even if I break but you wanted me and refused to have me So I give up. Finally. I’d rather be an impulsive fool than ever be a coward.
