the Crabbit old woman
They see you, sat In your chair alone with your thoughts unsure of who's there They see you, not one visit your family dispersed you'll sit and fidget They see you, scared and alone unsure why you're here longing for home They see you, unsteady on feet once an acrobat now in a seat They see you, confused how to eat your food just a mash each spoons a feat They see you, dementia has hold cry like a child but no on to hold They see you, "crabbit old woman" juice on your shirt looking sluven but, that's just what THEY see. I know you, I know who you are not some crabbit old woman I love from a far I know you, not what others see I know your quirks who you used to be I hold you, I hold your hand doctors draw blood this you cannot stand I hold you, I hold you close as we do obvs you hate this the most I help you, I bath your skin bums need wiping but not next of kin I help you, through day and night chase the visions to sleep without fright I'm with you, to help you eat no confusion no longer a feat I'm with you, its your last breath no pain, no fear now you can rest I'll miss you, no longer here not just a job more than careers I'll miss you, my friend with love your carer.
