I walked through fire, turned deserts green Laid claim to stars no soul had seen I broke the dusk with swords of light But couldn’t hold your hand at night They sang of me in distant lands A lion crowned with bloodied hands Yet all I sought was soft and true Not kingdoms, only you What use is conquest, thrones, or fame When whispered love won’t bear my name? I crossed the world but not your mind A holy land I’ll never find
