The cold
My hands feel like sharp deadly needles stabbing into them. My fingers feel as though they've turned to stone. My body shivers from the forceful breeze desperately hoping for a warm beam of light. My legs barely move stiff as a rock. My eyes ache from the stabbing of the cold weather. I remember this feeling. It's come back to me. An old friend that hugs you so tight You forget how cold it is. I remember this feeling. When you're stuck in a trance And your heart and mind do a silly little dance. I remember this feeling. The longing of tight warm arms And the relief of loud alarms. I remember when the cold was a stranger I remember when fire was the danger. I remember hot chocolate with melted marshmallows and burnt wood. I remember the should, could and never would because it wasn't good. I remember that sudden feeling that's hard to explain. I remember that burning touch the embodiment of pain. Yes I remember that feeling to be alone An Ice cold breeze chilling to the bone I remember when my mind wasn't so old. I remember when I wasn't so deep in the cold.
