The Choice to Be Kind
They say the heart is deceitful, capable of darkness beyond what it knows. Perhaps that is the burden of being human... that even the gentlest hands can leave unseen wounds. I have made choices that hurt people I never meant to hurt. Some moments still echo within me, and if I could rewrite those pages, I would. For every pain I caused, I offer my sincere apology. Not because words erase scars, but because remorse is the beginning of becoming better. Life grants us only one journey. One chance to meet strangers, to love friends, to forgive, to be remembered. Kindness costs so little, yet it is worth more than pride, more than being right, more than winning an argument. We are all capable of great evil. That truth should humble us, not define us. Every morning, we are given another choice. Not to be perfect, but to be kinder than we were yesterday. And perhaps, when this brief life is over, it will not be our achievements that people remember, but the gentleness we chose to leave behind.
