The Burden of Matrimony

‘Marriage is a blessing’ they say, Yet I don't see the appeal. I have no desire to legally bind myself To someone who may desert me later on. Marriage is perishable like food, Fantastic from the beginning, only to rot and decompose with each passing day. Such a shame that our society romanticizes this burden. Why not just date and live in separate homes? But that's what happens When you prioritize an idea over practicality. We all throw a party while wearing black and white Only to suffer the hassle of an eventual split. All that said, I don't believe in getting married. It's not guaranteed to last a lifetime. So why invest so much into it?
