The Burden of a Good Man
I hold the burden of being a good man. The people I love say I don't need to try so hard, because I have been a better man than most. But what they don't see are the aches I hold within myself. I believe I have good in my heart, but alongside the good is something else. There is a violence in my mind that I try to mask, and an anger that is constantly knocking on the door that I fear will wash away the good that I hold dear. I like to say I'm not a violent man, but deep down, all I crave from this world is to let it out, so then maybe I will feel free from these thoughts like demons in my mind. But I have people relying on me to be a good man and I can't bear the thought of revealing this shadow within me to them. So until the day I break I will stay strong though to others I appear weak and frail, against their better judgment what they mistake as weakness is rather The burden of a good man. ♡《♠︎》♡
