The Breath of the Ocean
The Breath of the Ocean The breath of the ocean Whispers fiercely past my ears. I walk beside the water, And thoughts begin to rise—like tides. Drawn deep into the sea, Carried gently by the waves, Toward a place Where all may rest. In memory’s quiet shore, Where once we kissed— A place now distant, Out of reach from here. O ocean, how you make me shine, How you teach me how to flow. I touch your skin, And feel you washing over my feet. I sense a destiny Now resting at my feet— But one day soon, It will become my hometown. Will you carry some weight for me, ocean? A little baggage, Some memories I may forget If I don't entrust them to your depths. And soon, I’ll come to you. I’ll introduce you to my family— They’re waiting for you. A future with you, A life with you, Forever.
