The Boy Who Wanted Love He was just a boy with hopeful eyes, Who chased the sun across the skies. An orphan child, alone and small, Dreaming of love — that was all. He watched the world with quiet gaze, Longing for warmth on endless days. He smiled at strangers, waved at crowds, But no one stayed — no voices loud. "Be good," they said, "Be strong, be bright," "And someone will love you, hold you tight." So he tried his best to shine so true, But no one saw what that boy knew. His laughter rang yet faded fast, As footsteps left him, just like the last. They'd come, they'd go — no hand would stay, And love kept slipping further away. He'd sit by windows, watching the rain, Tracing hearts on the fogged-up pane. "Is there someone out there, thinking of me?" He whispered softly, silently. He clutched his pillow, pretending it spoke, Imagining arms in which he'd choke. But pillows don't whisper, and dreams don't hold — And empty rooms always stay cold. He gave and gave till his heart felt sore, But no one knocked upon his door. He smiled for love, yet no one cared — And in the end, no one was there.
