The Bison
They thundered across the plains a hundred and fifty years ago Raising huge clouds of dust wherever they'd go Sixty million Bison were running free on the plains It is something that will never be witnessed again Along came Europeans with their destructive ways Wreaking havic on the Bison and their free roaming forays They were killed and slaughtered for mainly sports Until someone realized it was time to abort The senseless masacre of this majeatic creature And stealing from the plains its most dominent feature It was done to the Dodo and Pasenger Pigeon The Bison nearly joined them on the path to oblivion Their numbers are increasing thanks to government preservation
