The Bev
An old man sits in church He's there in search Of questions' answers Inside his head for years, these dancers Dancing around what he's already known The seeds from the past that were already sown Had taken root, and already grown He knew all along that he wasn't alone Sitting in the pew, so deep in thought Thinking of the answers of which he sought As the congregation stood up, these waters he dredged Then he noticed that a dress was wedged In front of him, in the old lady's cheeks He'd seen her before, she'd sat there for weeks He thought with a smile, this is today's good deed I'll reach right over for her and pick this weed The old woman whipped around aghast He'd never seen a woman of her advanced age move so fast 'How dare you', she said As she slapped him, right then, right upside his head Then just as quick, she swung back around He rubbed his stung face, moaned and frowned 'No good deed goes unpunished I guess' He thought as he looked at the pattern on her dress He was perplexed, now it occurred to him She must have wanted it in there... So he shoved it back in
