The Bell Jar
There was an old man eyeing me at the library He was oggling me the whole time I wish I could tell you But you went away I love the book I'm reading I'm sure you would, too I can't tell you anymore Since you went away It gets too quiet when I'm reading My mind brushes over the idea of calling you I wish you could listen to me ramble But you told me not to text you anymore It feels wrong not to text you good morning I feel like I'm forgetting something I forgot a long time ago, though Did you forget, too? You're constantly in the back of my mind Blessing my dreams every night I always wake up with tears in my eyes I miss you more than anything I smelled a candle that reminded me of you I cried in a HomeGoods today I could wait to look you in the eyes again Can you? In my dreams, we still talk You haven't met me yet It's a sweet taste That leaves a bitter coat on my tongue Every time Esther talks about Buddy I think of you I don't have a clue why Maybe it's because I'm always thinking of you The leaves are browning And your birthday is soon All I can hope for Is we're never in the same room
