The Beggar in you
Nothing more, nothing less The world is a chaotic mess You neither laugh nor weep at least But never miss out on a lovely feast. The Earth spins, but we whirl The sky stays, but the birds swirl Fighters fight in a mortal combat, While heart begs for a lovely contrast. A contrast so huge to cease this rush That, the heart often begs for a blush The body yearns for a proper rest And the mind settles in a safe nest. The global race has turned you into a shuttle, Settling for the minimum subtle. While our hearts beg us to stay Why do we dash and dart away? People are sprinting breathlessly To an unknown destination, endlessly. Greedily awaiting the outcome, Deaf to the beggar you modified from. The clock ticks as it is meant to The sky stays as it wants to You are to heed to the beggar in you So as to slow down and construe. Nothing more, nothing less The world could be a better mess You must laugh and weep so often For the beggar in you to soften.
