The Beast inside Me
There's a beast inside me, clawing to be free, A darkness hidden where none can see. It prowls in silence, bides its time, Waiting to cross that fragile line. It wears my skin, it knows my name, But it lives in shadows, feeding on pain. A force of nature, raw and wild, A storm unchained, a lost child. In moments of peace, it lies in wait, But anger calls it, tempting fate. It rises up, this primal rage, Turning my heart into a cage. I’ve tried to tame it, to hold it tight, To keep it buried deep out of sight. But in the darkness, it always thrives, Reminding me it’s still alive. It haunts my nights, it steals my dreams, A part of me, yet not my own, A king of thorns on a shattered throne. But even in chaos, it has its grace, It shows me truths I fear to see, This beast inside is a part of me. So I dance with the beast, in the dead of night, In the depths of shadow, far from light. But as the dawn breaks, it retreats once more, And I am left, with the ghost of its cry, A reminder that the beast never truly dies.
