The backup friend. The backup friend is the friend who you never chose to know. The backup friend is the one who would lose sleep just to know you're alright. The backup friend is the person who listens when you speak. The backup friend is the one who will stick around even when everybody else leaves. The backup friend is the friend who you don't realize is there, until too late. The backup friend is the friend who listens to give rides just to feel needed. The backup friend is the friend who has horrible mental health, but refuses to talk. The backup friend is the one who was never anybody's first priority. The backup friend is the one who never belongs in any group. The backup friend is numb, due to all of those who left, running, and never came back. The backup friend is me.
