THE ARROW I TRUSTED
I carried an arrow for years untold, keeping hearts and hope away. I wore my wounds like armor cold, and chased all love that came to stay. Most turned around and chose to leave, the moment they saw my guarded heart. It hurt each time, but I believed distance was safer than falling apart. Then you appeared like summer rain, and took the arrow from my hand. You eased my sorrow, soothed my pain, and made me think you'd understand. But you drew the string and took your aim, and sent it where my soul would start. I survived every wound before you came but your arrow found my heart.
