" The Ache of 'What Ifs' "
Dear God, Why did You let it happen? Why did You let me meet someone who felt like home, only to take that home away? There was too much connection for us to ever be “just friends,” too many problems for us to be something more, and now too many memories for us to ever be strangers again. I carry them everywhere. In songs, in smells, in certain times of day. I still catch myself reaching for my phone to tell them something small, then remembering, we don’t talk anymore. Not because we stopped caring, but because we didn’t know how to fix what broke. So tell me, if it wasn’t meant to be, then why did it feel like fate? Why did our souls recognize each other so easily, only to be torn apart by timing, by fear, by life? What was it all for? Was it a lesson? A test? A cruel joke? Because all I’m left with now is a hollow ache and a head full of “what ifs.” I miss them in ways words can’t hold. Not just their presence, but who I was when I was with them. Love,
