The Abyss Within
How swiftly one falls; Not into madness but something darker still. You fall for someone, And they remain untouched by the gravity That weighs your soul. A peculiar thing, isn’t it? To be overwhelmed, To feel the universe shift within you, And yet to stand before them, Quiet as death itself. What is love, then? Not a fleeting desire, But a slow, gnawing ache; A burden, a curse, A weight you carry in silence. And still, it endures, Beneath the noise of the world, In the dark chambers of your chest, Where no one can hear The truth you dare not speak. Love, after all, Is a confession you’ll never share, A cry lost in the void, Answered only by your own heart, But never by theirs. -Warda Pokhrel
