Thawing Me Out
She doesn't know this but yesterday on my cold walk I felt the sun And I just stopped and looked upward I felt the gentle warm kiss and the utter quietness Then I cracked A smile and laughter poured from me Something small deep down still exists I skipped and kicked the snow I hugged my sides laughing I bounced into the house As the sun left my face I settled down again The smile slowly faded The laughter died down The bounce and skipping stopped I have never felt that happy in so long I almost forgot how it tasted to kiss the sun She'll never know this but She was the reason I felt warm again
