That's what true love is
I watched you fight battles you never spoke about, Saw tears you hid behind a tired little smile, And every time you thought the darkness had won, I loved you harder and stayed a little while. We weren't a fairytale written in golden ink, We were two souls learning how to survive, Through all the nights we almost lost ourselves, We kept finding reasons to stay alive. Now when they ask me what true love looks like, I won't point to diamonds, roses, or a kiss, I'll point to the person who never let go of my hand— And quietly say, "That's what true love is."
