Thankful
We go through a lot of shit, forgetting our beginnings. The pain, the hurt, the tearing apart. We lose ourselves to our past and even moving on. Drawn away from God, in the dark we're drawn. Not claiming perfection, I've been lost too, But I hold on to what I believe is true. Psalm 23, my comfort, always near, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,” sincere. Days I’ve been broken, no food, no drink, Yet thank God still, even on the brink. From empty days to ones filled with grace, Thanking Him for life, for every embrace. Grateful for the mind and spirit bestowed, Walking through valleys where shadows grow. Poverty, heartbreak, the pressure to climb, Made bad choices, in those desperate times. Not proud of the hurt, but it’s part of my tale, Thanking God for time, for without it, we fail. Learning and growing, each step of the way, Giving thanks to the Almighty, come what may. For His grace, His will, guiding my strife, I thank God for being the light in my life.
