TERROR!!
An ancient fear, with eyes of glass, It watches from the shadows, still. A whisper in the quiet grass, A tremor, a cold, unyielding chill. The world shrinks to a single beat, The frantic pulse that pounds the bone. No place to run, no safe retreat, On jagged paths you walk alone. It wears a mask of every face, The neighbor, friend, the passing stranger. It twists the truth, it leaves no trace, And finds a home in silent anger. It thrives on darkness, feeds on lies, And sows the seeds of bitter doubt. Until the very sunlight dies, And all the stars have flickered out. But in the dust, a fragile spark, A memory of what was whole. A defiant flicker in the dark, The stubborn fire of a soul. For terror's grip can only last, As long as we allow it to. And when the shadow's die, at last, A fragile hope can struggle through.
